Lauded by critics and adored by the common listener, Andréa Moreno-Beals adds a sparkle and a certainty to every song she plays. As a cellist she diregards all boundaries and creates a wonderful world of cello unto itself, which feels like being inside the most magical snow globe and catching flakes on your tongue as they swirl around you. Andréa sets precise moods and weaves her way through music with nimble fingers, a conscious mind, and a loving heart. Her vocal harmonies are both sweet and stirring, and have this funny way of just making you want to sing, whether you were in the mood to beforehand or not. In parallel to her diverse abilities, she also had a diverse upbringing: the she was born and raised for seven years in Colombia, before moving to the United States and residing in the culturally rich city of Ann Arbor, MI. She attended a Rudolf Steiner school throughout her childhood, and spent time in Germany (where her fluency in the language was refined) as an exchange student. Someday, she might even learn Zulu. Currently, she has boldly left college behind to pursue her true passions, which include just about everything. Andréa Moreno-Beals is an inspiration to us all, and all her fantasticness is channeled into each and every note when she plays and sings.
